We
have over 20 years experience in software
development, working for industries in the retail,
medical, and real estate fields. In the spring of
2004, torrential rains hit the Dallas/Fort Worth
area in which we reside, resulting in flash floods
that this area has not seen in many, many years.
Many homes were damaged or destroyed by the
floods, and we were asked by the
Lancaster Outreach
Center, a local community
service organization, to design a database
application that they could use to track the needs
of flood victims and keep information on
volunteers. That first database was a Microsoft
Access-based database and proved helpful in
keeping a record of both the needs of the
community and help that was available. Later that
year, we were again asked by the Lancaster
Outreach Center to
create another database application that could be
used to track their ongoing client base. OutReach
was the result of that effort. Ten Mile
Software was created in order to share that
application along with a couple of others that we
had developed along the way with the general
public. We enjoy creating software that fills a
need, both for ourselves and others.
